Introducing Idle Diffractions: Writings on Geometrical Optics and Optical Design

In initiating this blog, I am angling to engage, over time, people who are particularly interested in optical design and more specifically the history of optics and optical design.  Along the way, I will scatter in interesting things that I come across through conferences and conventions and in reading and scanning a range of journals including Science, Nature, Wired, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, The New Yorker, the Economist, and, of course, the journals specific to optics and optical design including the Journal of the Optical Society of America, Applied Optics, Optics Communications, Optik, Optical Engineering, and the Proceedings of the SPIE.
