NASA has just released the first official images from the recently rejuvenated instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope, and they are spectacular. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/hubble/multimedia/ero/index.html The new instruments are more sensitive, promising more efficient observations and the ability to look deeper into the past by imaging extremely faint distant galaxies.
